What you’ll learn
During your practical training you’ll learn how to:
- Perform CPR on adults, children and infants
- Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Recognise and manage anaphylaxis
- Manage asthma emergencies
- Help someone who is choking
- Control bleeding and manage shock
- Apply slings and bandages
- Treat fractures, sprains and dislocations
- Respond to snake bites and other envenomation
- Care for an infant or child requiring urgent medical attention
- Complete first aid incident documentation
Our practical sessions are designed to help you develop both the skills and confidence to respond in an emergency involving children or adults.

Successful participants receive a Statement of Attainment including:
- HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
Course delivery
Complete your online theory before attending a practical face-to-face session.
Courses are held regularly throughout the Mid North Coast, including:

The course can also be delivered in workplaces or education settings for group bookings.

Entry Requirements
Participants must have the physical ability to complete practical assessment tasks, including two minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor.
Students require access to a computer, tablet or smartphone with internet access to complete the online learning.
Assessment
Assessment includes:
- Online theory questions
- Practical demonstrations
- Simulated emergency scenarios
- CPR on an adult, child and infant
- First aid incident reporting
Frequently Asked Questions
When will I receive my certificate?
Successful participants receive their nationally recognised Statement of Attainment through Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909. This is usually issued the same day as your face-to-face training session.
How often should I renew my certificate?
Certificates generally require renewal every 36 months.
Is online learning required?
Yes. The theory component is completed before attending the practical session.
